What to do now (whether you can attend or you want to be involved but cannot attend)
- Open a Twitter account. Don’t be afraid, you can do this. More information on Twitter and getting signed up are here. Once you start following Dr. Fajt and using the hashtag #AAVPT2012, you will get updates about the meeting before you come, and then ways to participate during the meeting. We are going to try to display the Twitter feed during the workshop, so people can following remotely and attendees can follow what’s going on in other breakout sessions.
- Read the NAVMEC Roadmap Report on veterinary education, especially the sections on competencies. This will be the starting point for discussions about training the veterinarians of the future.
- Share some of your interesting teaching methods, techniques, and ideas, and see what others are doing. Texas A&M University’s Center for Teaching Excellence is setting up a page on their Teaching and Learning Portal (http://learning.tamu.edu/) for sharing teaching materials. If you are interested in sharing, complete this form and submit it to vfajt@cvm.tamu.edu.
