AAVPT Workshop on Bioequivalence Issues in Veterinary Medicine

This workshop will provide a
platform for discussing such complex bioequivalence issues as:
* Highly variable drugs
* Establishing the bioequivalence of extended release formulations
* Intramammary products
* Non-systemically absorbed formulations
* Type A medicated articles
* Relationship between generic approvals and antimicrobial
resistance
* Challenges with rolling out bioequivalence concepts in
developing countries
* Defining the appropriate analyte.
This landmark event will include lectures from internationally recognized experts and will provide an opportunity for critical interactive discussions. Ultimately, based upon discussions, feedback, and expert insights, white papers will be developed and published. The co-chairs of the organizing committee are Drs. Marilyn Martinez from the Center for Veterinary Medicine, and Robert Hunter from Elanco Animal Health.
The meeting will be held in Potomac, Maryland, June 27 - 30, 2010, at
the Bolger Conference Center.
An overview of the points being discussed in this workshop will soon be published by the Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics and will be available at the AAVPT website. In addition, to insure that attendees get the most out of this workshop, the AAVPT will also be sponsoring a 2-hr webinar on the basics of bioequivalence. More information regarding date and cost of webinar attendance is forthcoming.
This event has already drawn international attention and is certain to lead to ground-breaking discussions. Unfortunately, space is limited. Therefore, early registration for this event is highly recommended.
