Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank

Contribution to the USP Veterinary

Pharmaceutical Information Monographs

Beginning in 1996, USP has collaborated with the Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD) to develop extra-label withdrawal times for specific extra-label indications. FARAD contributes estimated withdrawal times for species and indications for which the databank pharmacologists believe there is sufficient data available to make an acceptable recommendation. FARAD also contributes the scientific basis for their extra-label withdrawal recommendation for consideration during the USP review process. A consensus of the Veterinary Medicine Advisory Panel members must be reached before an extra-label withdrawal time is added to any monograph.
